Fitness Classes in North Bay
Bootcamp-style classes led by certified trainers. Show up, work hard for 40 minutes, and leave feeling like you actually did something. $10 per class. Drop in anytime — no membership required.
You Don’t Need to Know What You’re Doing. You Just Need to Show Up.
That’s the whole point of a class.
You walk in, your trainer tells you what to do, you do it for 40 minutes, and you leave stronger than when you arrived. No programming to figure out. No equipment to Google. No standing around wondering if you’re using the cable machine wrong while someone waits behind you.
Fitness classes at The Next Step Fitness Centre in North Bay are built for people who want structure, energy, and a reason to come back. Whether you haven’t worked out in years or you train five days a week and want something different — the classes meet you where you are.
Every class is led by a certified trainer. Not a group fitness instructor reading off a screen. A trainer with real credentials (CanFitPro, NFPT) who watches your form, offers modifications, and makes sure nobody gets hurt — including the person in the back row doing their first burpee since 2014.
$10 per class with a package. $12 to drop in. No membership required. No contract. Just you and 40 minutes of work.

What a 40-Minute Class at The Next Step Actually Looks Like
Minutes 1–3: The Rundown
Minutes 3–5: Dynamic Warm-Up
A proper warm-up — not two minutes on a treadmill. Your trainer takes you through dynamic movements that prep the muscles you’re about to use. This reduces injury risk and gets you moving better from the first rep.
Minutes 5–35: The Workout
Minutes 35–40: Cool-Down and Stretch
Who Takes Fitness Classes in North Bay? (Everyone From First-Timers to Regulars.)

You’re brand new to fitness.
You don’t know a deadlift from a dumbbell row and that’s fine. The trainer breaks down every movement, offers easier variations, and checks on you throughout. Nobody’s staring at you. Everyone was new at some point.
You like the energy of a group.
There’s something about training alongside other people that makes you push harder. The music’s on. The trainer’s counting you down. You’re not scrolling your phone between sets. You’re locked in for 40 minutes.
You want accountability without the price of one-on-one training.
Personal training is the gold standard. But at $10 a class, group fitness gives you a certified trainer, a structured program, and a set time to show up — at a fraction of the cost. It’s the sweet spot between training alone and having a personal coach.
You’re 30, 50, 70 — and you want a class that actually adapts to you.
Every exercise has a modification. Our trainers work with adults from their 30s through their 70s. You won’t be the oldest person in the room, and you won’t be the youngest. That’s by design.
You want to try before you commit.
Drop-in rate is $12. No membership. No sign-up form. No sales pitch after class. Just show up, take the class, and decide for yourself.

Certified Trainers. 25 Years. 4.9 Stars.
Every class at The Next Step is led by a trainer who holds recognized certifications — CanFitPro, C-SEP, NFPT, NCCP. These aren’t group fitness instructors who took a weekend course. They’re trained professionals who understand exercise science, progression, and how to modify movements for different bodies and conditions.
The Next Step Fitness Centre has been at 361 Main Street East in North Bay since 2000. Twenty-five years. The classes have evolved, but the approach hasn’t: small groups, real instruction, and a facility where adults feel comfortable showing up.

Common Questions About Fitness Classes at The Next Step
Do I need to be a member to take a class?
No. Classes are open to everyone. Drop in for $12 or buy a class package at $10 per class. No membership, no contract, no sign-up fee required.
What kind of classes do you offer?
Our classes are bootcamp-style — a mix of strength, cardio, and mobility work that changes session to session. Every class is 40 minutes, led by a certified trainer, and designed for all fitness levels with modifications available.
I’m completely out of shape. Can I still come?
Yes — and you should. Every exercise has a modification. Your trainer will check in with you, adjust the intensity, and make sure you’re working at a level that’s challenging but safe. More than half our members started exactly where you are.
How much do fitness classes cost in North Bay?
At The Next Step, classes are $12 to drop in or $10 per class with a package. No membership required. No contract. That’s significantly less than most studios and includes instruction from certified trainers — not a pre-recorded video on a screen.
What’s the class schedule?
Classes run Monday through Friday. Check our [Class Schedule page] or follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the current weekly lineup, including which muscle groups each class targets.
How long is each class?
Every class is 40 minutes: 3 minutes for explanation, 2 minutes for a dynamic warm-up, 30 minutes for the workout, and 5 minutes for stretching and cool-down. Structured, efficient, and done in under an hour.
What’s the difference between classes and personal training?
Classes are group-based, $10–$12 per session, and follow a set program the trainer designs for the group. Personal training is one-on-one, fully customized to your body and goals, starting at $32.50 for a 30-minute session. Both are led by certified trainers.
What should I bring?
Wear comfortable workout clothes and clean indoor shoes. Bring water. We supply the equipment, the program, and the motivation. Towels are helpful but not required.
